I have no idea what I’m doing here. It’s 1:30 AM on a Saturday, I should be sleeping but instead I’m diddling around with a blog that I use *maybe* twice a year.

Today I went to MagicCon Las Vegas. It sure was a thing. Lots of people, lots of cards, overall it was  slightly overwhelming.

I don’t think it’s for me, which is fine. The event seems to be mostly focused on the playing of Magic, and I am more interested in the making of Magic.

That’s not to say I didn’t have a good time – there was a Duskmourn/Bloomburrow “experience” thing where you solve a few puzzles and get a pin at the end – that was a lot of fun.

And LoadingReadyRun had a Meet & Greet, so I got to both meet and greet a chunk of the crew and they graciously signed, or resigned, or just reminisced, about my Season 1 DVD set. That was, honestly, the highlight of the day.

I got a lot of cards, which I should probably open and sort and whatnot, but didn’t play much Magic. Depending on how I feel I may head back tomorrow and play some then. But, if I’m being honest with myself, the total lack of masking in the place really wigged me out and I’m just not sure I’m ready to spend that much time with that many people during cold/flu/COVID season.

Maybe I’m paranoid.

 

Regardless, today was a good day.

Also, maybe I should blog more.
