So, new week, new posts.

As I said last week, I want to post at least one thing each day – I’m hoping this counts as my one thing for the day. It’s not an actual entry, I’ll admit that upfront. It’s more an appetizer, a menu of the entries that will be posted this week.

First up, tomorrow I’ll be posting my thoughts on the brand new Nintendo DSi. After giving one to Nadia for her birthday, I had to get one for myself. Was it worth it? Is it worth replacing a DS Phat/Lite with one of these? Find out my thoughts tomorrow!

Wednesday, a rant on the scourge of the English language- How “you know” has seemingly replaced “um” in most peoples spoken vocabulary.

Thursday, I’ll drop my thoughts on the Fallout 3 expansion “Broken Steel” – does the new “ending” fit the game better, and is the new content worth the ten bucks?

And, finally, Friday will be a nice review of the new Star Trek movie. I’ll be seeing the movie – along with Nadia, Rosenberg, Tabby and (maybe) Bighead and my Dad – so I’ll include a wide array of viewpoints on the movie. Everyone from the die-hard Trekkie to new-comers will be represented in this no-holds barred discussion on what is my most anticipated movie of the summer.

As I said in my last post, I’ve been playing a good amount of Fallout 3 – although, not much over the past week. I’ve played it on both the PS3 and the XBox 360, and I have to say that I prefer it on the 360, which is rare for me. Normally when given the choice between both platforms, I prefer the PS3 version of a game. However the 360 version is much more playable, with faster loading and fewer bugs.

Which shouldn’t be surprising, seeing as how Bethesda prefers the 360.

One of the things I really like about this game is just how deep it is. Where Oblivion, the previous Bethesda game I’d played, had a lot to do and lot to explore, the story was weak. Hell, the main quest could be completed in just a few hours, and then you’re left doing minor tasks for lazy fuckers. Fallout 3, on the other hand, has a very deep main quest, with lots of back story. The majority of the “side quests” also have a large chunk of story attached to them, which makes them fun.

There’s also a lot to explore in this game, and the exploration makes you work for it. If you want to find something, most of the time you’ve got to hunt for it. It’s a post-apocalypse waste land, and it shows. No easy roads, no green grass… Just miles of dusty plains and jagged rocks.

My only major gripe is the deterioration of weapons over time. This is supposed to introduce a level of reality to the game, a sense of urgency and “we really are after the bomb” kind of feeling, but it just annoys me. I’ve got a great gun, and it does great damage… A few times. Then it starts to suck. Then it sucks a lot, and I die.

Not. Cool.

Other than that, though, I’m very happy with this game. It’s edging it’s way up to the “favorite games” list…

Short post time.
Yesterday, I was playing Fallout 3, and was getting both bored and frustrated. It’s very hard to manage your ammo, and being “nice” to everyone in the post-apocalyptic world is a bitch.

So, I did the only thing I could think of – I blow up an entire town.

So much awesome… And now I’m just going through the rest of the game, killing things that have what I need to survive, and not really thinking too much about it.

Sure, it’s made my dude a “bad guy”, but I’m having fun – and, isn’t that the point of a game?
