Captains Personal Log Today I made Captain, and shortly thereafter was awarded the helm of a new ship – the U.S.S. Miskatonic. She’s a long range science vessel, of the Intrepid class. Well, mostly Intrepid class – the main hull is of the new Discovery class, but the rest of the ship is pure Intrepid.

Recently, I purchased the game 3D Dot Game Heroes, for the Playstation 3. It’s billed as a love note the the 8bit adventure games of yore, and that’s probably the best description that can be had for the game. The plot is straight out of The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past: A

About a month ago, I picked up a copy of Just Cause 2 for the PlayStation 3. It’s a pretty standard sandbox style action game, akin to Saints Row 2 or Red Faction: Guerrilla… Only, it’s really, really fun. It’s a game that’s super easy to talk about, because there’s no real risk of spoilers.

Yeah, I know – I don’t update for ages, and when I do… It’s with a Doctor Who/BBC One promo. Well, bite me – It’s The Doctor, some reindeer, and a TARDIS sled. How can that *not* be considered awesome? Speaking of holiday madness, in one week I’ll be getting ready to begin Operation Distant

Often at work, I get bored – and spend part of the day chatting, off and on, with Rosenberg. Occasionally, we have awesome discussions about stuff. Today was one of those days – the day we wrote The Greatest Movie Ever Made So, President Sam Jackson teams up with former football star turned demolitions expert

This, however, is not a post about that birthday. It is, rather, a post mentioning the fact that said birthday did occur,

I’ve heard some refer to Borderlands as a RPS (role playing shooter), or “Diablo with guns”. I tend to agree with the latter; while it is a shooter, there is little to no roleplay – or even story. Like Diablo, you can customize your gear and your skills, but will end up spending most of

An Open Letter to Gabe Newell Dear Gabe Newell, Hi, how are you? I’m fine. The weather is finally cooling off, which is nice – won’t have to run the AC as often, which in these harsh economic times means I might be able to save a bit of cash. But, enough small talk –

At what point does emulation make more sense than blowing on a cart and praying? Recently I was bit by the Zelda bug – the urge to go back and once again attempt to tackle one of the great Zelda titles. Which one I would throw myself at was undecided – either the classic first

Im having trouble with my Death Knight in WoW… (Yeah, I know u haven’t been on WoW in eons..but whatever
)
They have kick ass abilities both tanking and dps, but the quest lines you start off with are SOOOOO morally disheartening. You have to kill cowering villagers and your best friend. All so that Shredder (aka Arthas the Lich King) can send u on a wild goose (or grphyn as the case may be) chase.
