Re: The Color Printer

The network color printer is still out of commission – it is jamming, regardless of where the paper is fed from. We are aware of the problem, and are working as quickly as we can to fix it. In the mean time, please do not send any more jobs to it – they won’t come out anyway, so it’s just a waste of your time and mine. Also, please refrain from dropping by my cubical every five minutes to either ask if it’s still broken, or let me know that it is broken. I know it is – that is why there is a note on the printer in my hand writing saying that it’s broken. When it’s fixed, I’ll let you know – and remove the note. Until the note is gone, it’s broken.

One last thing to be aware of: Contrary to popular belief, beating the printer like a rented mule will not, I repeat, will not make it work any faster, and may cause further damage to both the printer and my sanity. The next person to use undue force on the printer will be choked with a CAT6 cable, as outlined in the employee manual in Chapter 32, Subsection 4F.

Thank you and have a nice day.

What you see when you beat all the puzzles.

What you see when you beat all the puzzles.

星探3 [hoshi saga 3] (nekogames).

Neat little flash game I found mentioned on Kotaku this afternoon… Took me far longer to beat it than it probably should have, but I did it.

So, why don’t you check it out and let me know what you think, eh?

Some of the puzzles are kind of hard – and they all have their own set of rules, so the whole thing is like a bunch of mini-games with no set rules.

It’s really fun though – the main object it to just find the star!

Well, I’m gonna do it – I’m opening my own business.

Sort of.

See, money has gotten to be a bit on the tight side lately, what with my actually attempting to pay off my credit cards within a reasonable amount of time and all that, so I’ve decided to take up some extra work on the side. Extra tech support work, stuff I’m already good at, stuff there’s already a market for.

So, I’ve started compiling a list of prices that currently existing support places charge, just as a baseline so I know what would be fair and what I should shoot for in order to undercut them, yet still remain profitable in the long run. I’ve also started looking into getting bonded so that I don’t have to worry as much about lawsuits or the like.

There are a few things I’m not fully comfortable with, but I’ve got the support of my parents backing me on this, so it’s not like I’m doing it entirely on my own. I hope to be up and running fairly soon, and once that happens, well… Who knows?

Side note: Have you seen what Geek Squad charges for stuff? $170 for a single application install! $150 to burn a DVD! I’m really not getting paid enough at work, that’s for damn sure…

Been a while since my last update thought I might attempt one while I pass the time at a bar.

Nadia and I just marked two months together this Monday. Had dinner at the Paris, I got her some CDs, she got me comics. Good food, good wine. She reminded me that next time jewelry would be a good gift. ;)

Been busy at work, have an aduit going on. Boss is bitchy, but I’m not stressing. I just don’t care.

Tonight Nadia and her friends are hitting the Strip – I’m tagging along for fun and food. They are hitting Chippendales right now, so I’m kicking back @ a bar with my phone and some good beer.

Later we’ll be hitting a club. Me! In a club! Imagine that!!

Pray for Dunny.

Tonight Nadia and I went to In & Out, then watched a movie and spent sometime hanging out in the park at Town Square.

Good times…

The movie we saw was “Burn after Reading”, the new Cohen Brothers movie.
OMFG it was hilarious… A sort of mad-cap zany farce thing, based around the CIA (kinda) and people generally being douche bags to one another… Bad Pitt was amazing in it. I had no idea he could be that damn funny, but he was. The rest of the cast was also pretty damn stellar, but Pitt was the stand out for me.

While we were leaving the theater, who should I see in the hall but Penn (of Penn and Teller), talking to his friends about how he, also, enjoyed the movie. I had no idea just how fucking tall Penn was, but dude is huge. Like, Big McLargehuge huge… All hair and biker leathers and shit – big, intimidating dude.

Needless to say, I did not walk up and ask for any sort of autograph. I would expect he’d saw me in half with his laser eyes or something.

We (Nadia and I, not Penn and I) then walked over to Borders to get something to drink, and to look at the comics. Did I mention that Nadia is awesome? Cause she is. We looked at some comics, and some manga – turns out we both like Vampire Knight, and she had pegged me as someone who would like All Star Superman.

Then we sat on the “lawn” for about an hour, just talking about stuff – all sorts of stuff – having a very relaxed evening. Before things were done, we got yelled at by a security guard for having the audacity to use the public restrooms to pee in.

The scandal! Peeing in a public restroom!

All in all, a damn good night.
