After Spooks wonderful liveblogging of his PC Build, I’m left with this feeling of challenge. That I need to find some other event worthy of being blogged as it happens?

I’m also wondering if, maybe, there aren’t some situations where liveblogging is totally inappropriate. Such as going to the bathroom:

9:11 – OH DEAR GOD THE SMELL! WHY GOD WHY?? WHAT SIN COULD A MAN COMMIT IN A SINGLE LIFETIME TO DESERVE SUCH A FATE?!

9:15 – I feel as though I’m summoning an elder god here…
The pain, the horror…
The horror…

9:20 – I can hear the distant wail of a smoke alarm.
Or maybe it’s the howling of lost souls pouring forth from my unholy bowels.
I swear, I’m never eating at Taco Bell again.

Or, perhaps, a date with a non-geek:

19:00 – I’ve got about fifteen minutes before I need to head out and pick up Sally. Just making some last minute wardrobe changes; Made sure I’ve got my lucky (read: clean) boxers on.
Oh yeah.

20:00 – Just picked up Sal. She’s yammering about her day, and we’re heading out for the evening. Something about local art and maybe some food. Should be fun.
It’s a bit hard to blog and drive. Maybe I’ll get a medal for this.

20:16 – Yup, I was right: Blogging and driving is kinda stupid. Nearly hit a pedestrian. Sally wants to know what the heck I’m doing on the phone. I told her I’d explain later.

20:30 – Parked, walking towards the Art. Not sure what we’ll find this time out. Sal’s getting slightly upset about my lack of attention. May have to post a little less.

Nah.

20:55 – Wow, some of this Art is pretty good. There are some paintings, and a few angry lesbians talking about tulips or something. Kind of confusing, but then again I’m sane.
Sal’s getting pretty huffy about something, not totally sure what. Keeps glaring at the phone, though.
I am posting less than before; what more could she want?

21:00 – In a fight with Sal right now – God, woman, would you shut up while I type? It’s hard enough on this damn iPhone without you nattering on about needing to be the center of god damn attention all the time.
On the plus side, I got some cotton candy!

21:03 – Well, here’s an unexpected twist: I’m free for the rest of the evening, maybe longer.
That’s right, ladies, this man is A-Vale-Ible.
Rowr!

The only thing worse than that might be the liveblogging of sex. I’ll leave that as an exercise for the reader.

After all this, I’m left with two questions. First and foremost, what will my next foray into liveblogging be? Second, and just as important: If Spook was building his computer, what was he using to blog?

The first – and most obvious change – will be the fact that I’ve done away with the command line. There’s no epic reasoning behind it, I just felt like a bit of a change.

Speaking of changes, I’ll be making an updated logo fairly soon. I really like this theme for WordPress, so I’m going to attempt to make a logo that matches. We’ll see how well I actually manage. ;)

There’s not a whole hell of a lot else I’ve actually got to add at the moment. Things are, for the most part, going as well as could be expected. My finances are rather less ordered than I’d normally prefer, but my account will be receiving some pay-check loving to the tune of seventeen hours of overtime, so that will help.

I’ve come up with a rather ingenious way of dealing with my bouts of depression and general malaise: I’ve been keeping a leather tome (there is no other word for the thing) tucked safely away in a locked drawer at work, and inscribe in it my more foul thoughts and moods. Keeps the blog light and happy, but does let me get things out and off my chest.

This will, more than likely, be the only mention I make of it here. I’m not even sure why I bring it up, other than to bring it up.

Last night Steph and I went to an all you can eat sushi place, Sushi Club. The food was pretty darn tasty, and the company was fab. One thing that struck me as unique was the fact that the chef has a “signature sauce”, which he adds to almost every dish he makes. Not sure what it is, exactly, although it tastes of lemon. Was really, really good.

Also, only twenty bucks, so you can’t beat that.

Today is Sunday.

There is nothing going on today, nothing to blog about at least.

I guess I could recap my week, that might be fun.

Last sunday I was still @ work, finishing up the major bits of our move. There was pizza provided, and I ate as much of it as I could. There was also a rather confusing issue with getting three of our plotters online and working correctly, and I nearly attacked – literally – one of my least favored ISD guys when he started fucking around with one of the printers after I’d finally managed to get it working.

Monday and Tuesday are kind of blurred together. There was a lot more running around, doing stupid little shit just trying to get everyone else ready to work. You know, all the people who were too good to work with us over the weekend to move their stupid, lazy asses.

As I figured, there was no thanks given for the work done.

Either Tuesday or Wednesday night Rosenberg and I were joined by Steph for Sushi @ Kona. A good time was had by all, and it seems that Rosenberg thinks she’s rather neat too.

Thursday I slept, eventually. Stayed up late playing UT3 and generally relaxing.

Friday I installed linux on my PS3, and live blogged it. I didn’t go to Rich’s for Game Night because I wanted a bit of time for to recharge, and I figured there’d be enough people there that I would feel the strain of dealing with them. From the sounds of it a good time was had in my absence, as well as some interesting conversation and speculation. Personally, I’m glad they talk about me when I’m not around – it validates my existence. ;)

Of course, I didn’t just sit on my ass all night Friday, I did eventually go out and do things, but they were my things.

Saturday was spent almost entirely in bed. I was damn tired, worn out and just loving the fact that I had nothing to do and nowhere to go. I played more UT, spent some time IMing with Katt and Lori, and managed to get my living room even more clean.

And today?

Today is Sunday.
